A Lifelong endeavor!

plein air painting, figures and still life

Tim was born and raised in Hardin, Montana. After high school, he attended the University of Utah and graduated in 1965 with Art Major. He married his high school sweetheart, Rose, in 1964 and they joined the Peace Corps in 1966.
After the Peace Corps, he and his wife stayed one year in Quito, Ecuador, just to paint. During that time, they also had their first child. After returning to the U. S. in 1968, they settled in Monterey, California. Tim began working for the Monterey Fire Dept. in 1969. Shortly afterward, their second child was born. Tim continued his career as a firefighter/engineer, for twenty nine years. In between shifts, he continued his artwork. He studied with various art teachers on the Monterey Peninsula, and exhibited in local competitions  In 1987, he was accepted into the Carmel Art Association.
Tim's love for art, has been a life long passion. He struggled to maintain a balance between raising a family, having a working career and always finding time to do some artwork. Now, in his years of retirement, with the children raising their own families, he is able to devote more time to his artwork.
